Virtual art therapy
How does virtual art therapy work?
Q: What exactly is virtual art therapy?
A: It’s therapy that meets you where you are, literally. We connect through a secure video platform, and together we use creativity as a doorway into healing. You might draw, paint, collage, or simply let color move across a page. The art is not about “talent”; it’s about expression, curiosity, and making space for what words alone can’t always carry.
Q: Do I need to be good at art?
A: Not at all. Art therapy is about process, not product. The value lies in what shows up on the page and inside of you, not in making something “beautiful” or “right.” In fact, sometimes the messiest, most unpolished images hold the deepest truths.
Q: What supplies do I need?
A: You don’t need a fancy studio or expensive materials. A simple notebook and a set of markers or pencils can open the door. If you already have paints, pastels, or collage scraps, we will weave those in too! The most important supply is your willingness to show up.
Q: How is virtual art therapy different from in-person?
A: The heart of the work is the same: you create, we reflect, and meaning unfolds. The difference is that you’re in your own space- your bedroom, your kitchen table, maybe even a corner you’ve claimed as your sanctuary. Many clients find this makes the not having to drive to an office relieves stress and...
Q: Who is this for?
A: This work is for anyone who drawn to kinesthetic movement and creative expression, even if you’ve been disconnected from it for years. It can be especially supportive if you live with ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, eating struggles, or if you simply feel words fall short. If you’ve ever wished for therapy that feels more alive, this may be it.
Q: How will I know if this is right for me?
A: Often, you know by the way your body responds when you imagine it—do you feel a spark of curiosity, a little flutter of possibility? If talk-only therapy hasn’t felt like quite enough, art therapy may offer a different doorway into yourself. We can explore this together in a free consultation.
Q: How do I begin?
A: Beginning is simple. You can schedule a 15 minute consultation. In that call, we’ll get to know each other, talk through what’s bringing you here, and see if virtual art therapy feels like the right fit for you.
